INTRODUCTION

Dear Friend,

On May 3rd, International Press Freedom Day, scores of journalists and cyberdissidents will still be imprisoned around the world for exercising their right to express their opinion. This threat also hangs over a multitude of artists. At Amnesty International we decided to fight this so that nobody can silence their words. For this reason we have created our art collection which we invite you to view now. We hope you like it!

IT MUST NOT BE A COLANDER!
The Spanish Parliament can still amend the arms trade law, presented by the government. Amnesty International demands controls to avoid Spanish weapons falling into the wrong hands. There are many lives at stake and you can do a lot. There’s still time to act!.

EGYPT: LEGALISING ABUSE
Some 18000 people are languishing in Egyptian jails without charge or trial, some for more than 10 years. Egypt has lived through and applied “state of emergency” legislation for 40 years. Now, if the new legislation against the terrorist threat is passed, it would consolidate those abuses. Don’t let it happen!
